Locum Information Governance Officer – Full-Time – Hybrid Working - South East of England – 3+ Month Contract – Up to £40 per hour (Umbrella)
 
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Information Governance Officer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis, offering an exciting opportunity to join a friendly Local Authority.
 
Role Details:
Role: Locum Information Governance Officer
Working Arrangement: Full Time – Hybrid working
Onsite Requirement: 1-2 Office days per week in the South East
Duration: Initial 3+ months with the possibility for extension
Rate: Up to £40 per hour umbrella
Start: ASAP Start
 
Role Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support the Council’s Information Governance function, with duties including:
  • Managing and responding to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Subject Access Requests (SARs) in line with statutory deadlines
  • Advising officers and departments on Information Governance best practice and compliance
  • Applying relevant exemptions under FOI and Data Protection legislation
  • Supporting on Data Protection matters and general compliance
  • Assisting with data management and information handling processes
  • Liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) where required
 
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven experience working within Information Governance in a Local Government or public sector environment
  • Strong knowledge of FOI, Data Protection legislation, and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet statutory deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to advise a range of stakeholders
